This podcast questions the power of Indian images and analyzes their role and relevance in today's social media, politics, and society.

THE WOMANBEHINDTHE MIC

Gayathri Iyer is an art historian, dance historian and Bharatha Natyam dancer with a passion for unveiling hidden contexts in Indian history. She is an M.Phil holder from the prestigious Jawaharlal Nehru University, and a grantee of the India Foundation for the Arts for her research on Bangalore’s dance history. She was the art historian responsible for inscribing the Hoysala Heritage Monuments on the UNESCO World Heritage site list. She is invited to speak on Indian Art at conferences across the world, including TedX, the Dance Studies Association (USA), The University of Florence, Cambridge University, Cardiff University, and the University of Melbourne.
